ASUS R9 270X and i3 1155?

i have an i3 processor LGA1155 3.40GHz, 3MB cache. Would i be able to support the ASUS R9 270X GDDR5 2GB graphics card? Im asking because i heard that a graphics card more powerful that this one with an i3 2110 would lead to losing fps and problems in generall. So is this combination compatible?

you either lose fps through a lower card or you lose fps through the cpu bottlenecking. bottlenecks are a fact of life, they are not a concern. I'd be happy pairing anything with an i3 2110, just be aware that sometimes the cpu will be underpowered.

Are they compatible? Yes, but please I have to encourage you to save a little more to get the i5 the performance difference is too great to ignore for gaming.

A middleground would be a locked i5 sandy i5,I've seen like i5 2400s for example on ebay for ~140, a choice to seriously look at and consider.

Try to spring for an i5 but if not the i3 is no slouch

I gotta disagree. I3 Ivy bridge doesn't really even compete with my q6600 from 2007 when oc to 3.33GHz but I suppose that relates more to the games I play, now I must also agree with you that a i5 2400 is a tremendous gaming cpu.
