I have had an issue with my computer shutting it self down randomly and immediately. Doesn't show any signs or error codes. Will shut down no matter what im running and may be within 2 minutes of being turned on or 2 hours.

I have used an older motherboard to test the psu, cpu, ram, graphics card and hard drives. No problems with these.

I am wondering if i could possibly have a driver issue with the sabertooth board and my ssd drivers (raid 0). I can't think of anything else. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

System :
CPU- AMD phenom 955 BE @ stock
Ram-OCZ intel xmp edition (4x2GB) @stock
Graphics card- Sapphire 6950 2GB @stock
HDD-OCX agility 3 60GB (raid 0)
Sound card- asus xonar DG
PSU- cheap 760W

I will quickly point my finger at the "PSU- cheap 760W" as being the culprit here - "It did it!" I declare vehemently.
It is often not realized how important power is to the PC. All components within the PC rely on the proper amount of 'clean' power getting to them, the voltage regulation modules built into the motherboard can only do so much. A high quality PSU can do wonders for a machine's stability and longevity.
What is the make and model of your current PSU, how old is it? Do you have access to a different PSU to try?

Thanks for the reply !

Im not sure of the model of the PSU, it is maplins "own brand" so to speak. It was bought as something to get me by until I bought a good quality PSU. I have tested the power supply and it seems fine. The PSU is roughly a year old.

Although I don't have a second PSU to test in its place I have managed to change the motherboard and the problem does not arise. Using the exact hardware stated above.

I am not sure If i have mentioned that the shutdowns can happen whilst the computer is idle or whilst under load. It isn't triggered by anything I can see. I have also since updated the drivers for my ssd raid.
