Hey everyone!

Just had a quick couple of questions. I've got a spare 120mm case fan, and I'm not sure what the optimal position would be. The stock case fans are a 120mm fan at the bottom front for intake, one 120mm fan at the top of the back for exhaust and finally a 140mm fan on the top set for exhaust.

Would the best place to put a 4th fan be an additional 120mm fan set for intake at the front?

My second question is a noob one (sorry!). So if I want all 4 case fans to be controlled by the fan controller that comes with the case, do I plug all the case fan cables directly into the PSU or the mobo?

Cheers and thanks in advance for any advice!

Solution
Most likely if you are running a multiple graphics card setup, or are having graphics card temperature issues, then using the fan bracket on the side of the case as an intake to supply the card(s) with cool air is probably the best usage.

Otherwise, you might be be better off with the additional fan at the front, or not using it at all. If your system temps are fine, and everything is working effectively, there isn't really a reason to add more. Once you have a solid intake+exhaust, you are mainly eating into diminishing returns.

And what theNoobBuilder said, the fans should all be plugged into the fan controller, which in turn should have it's own power connection.

Cheers Rammy.

I'm going with a single GPU set up, so I'll check temps for the first couple of days and then see if it's worth adding the extra fan in later.
