The blinking white dot on black screen means the motherboard is looking for the boot device. Check the boot settings and make your HDD with OS on it as primary or 1st preference. If you have done this.. then put in the Win OS DVD/USB and boot from it. Then repair your computer start up from the setup screen.

well when I unplug the hard drive and turn it on with just the CD/DVD drive It runs and it gets into Unbuntu and everything but I cant download it it because u got to have 4.4gig to download it on your hard drive but u can go threw and try it out and that works fine so its something Linux did to my hard drive when it wiped it and tried to put Linux back on it when it froze so do u think its my hard drive and if so how do I fix it? is there anything I can do once am in the try me section of Linux or? and for everything being combatable everything seems to work fine together all be sides this problem am having after I tried to download Linux and I froze now idk.

If you have an external USB HDD box, try putting your HDD in there and see if you can see it come up from your Ubunto LiveCD.

If your HDD works properly from the external HDD box but causes your PC to freeze during boot, you may have an odd interoperability problem between the HDD and your motherboard. I have a similar problem with one of my HDDs... either fails to enumerate during PC boot or causes the PC to crash during POST when plugged directly to the motherboard's SATA ports but works fine in an external USB box.

ok then how do I go about doing that? if there is one and do u think maybe I should burn a windows 7 disk and try and run it see if it straitens it out and puts a OS on it ?

FM2+ chips will not work in an FM2 motherboard. FM2 chips WILL work in an FM2+ motherboard.

PCPartpicker is wrong on this one. That cpu will not work with that motherboard. The net is filled with such findings from reviewers and AMD's statements themselves. A bios update will not fix this. I hate to be the barer of bad news, and if that chip works on that motherboard i'll be stunned. But the FM2+ socket has extra holes for extra pins (two extra pins); which Kaveri HAS. So i don't know how you got that kaveri cpu into an FM2 motherboard but you likely bent some pins in the process.

:(

sorry bro... the people telling you it will work with a bios update are wrong. That chip will not work on an FM2 motherboard. If you're lucky you can unbend the pins you likely bent stuffing that chip into the board. If you are not, then you've damage that chip.

If you need advice on how to straighten those pins out, i can give you some tips. Believe me, it's not the end of the world. it's not easy to do but it can be done.
