Need to downloand Office 7 to Win8

I called the "helpdesk" about my new LENOVO computer installed with Windows 8, but want to use my rather newly purchased MSOffice 7. I was told I need to pay them $60 to update the driver information for compatibility sake to be able to use MSO 7 - or pay $135 for MSO 8, which I don't have the funds to do! Is there any way to update the driver info myself??

Sorry, and thanks - it's MSOffice 2007, (my brain is mush after spending all morning trying to figure this out). The new computer is forcing me to use MSOffice 8, and I just bought the 2007 about 6 months ago. Does that all make sense?? I can download my MS Office 2007 onto the computer, but I cannot access it, can't even find it in the files - and am told it's a driver compatibility issue.

MS Office 2007 is fully supported on Windows 8. No 'drivers' needed, especially paying for them.

I see that the website confirms the promise of compatibility - but when I couldn't access, and called the LENOVO helpdesk they told me I wouldn't be able to access -is this a LENOVO access denied action, or am I missing a section on that website link that might explain how I can access 2007? Should I delete the pre-loaded "MSOffice 8 Activation" software?

Yes, I do have the box - did install it, restarted my computer and then when I searched for WORD or EXCEL it would only give me the option to open 2008 - that's when I called LENOVO, then started this blog of questions. I am currently downloading 2007 again (using my Product Key # ) from the MS website where it mentioned a repair/fix install. Once that is installed I'll restart again and see what happens.

After installing, you shouldn't have to Search for it.
Word, Excel, etc should be tiles in the Start screen.

The below pic is Office 2013, but Office 2007 should look pretty much the same.

It looks like I'm in!!!! By downloading the MSOffice FROM the MS website it worked! I don't really understand exactly why, but I am in WORD and EXCEL 2007 on my NEW computer. I saw the MS link on the website you directed me to, or I would have never thought to look there.

Thanks so much for your assistance and suggestion to look at the website!!!!!
