I want to Overclock my CPU and GPU, can anyone help me with "safe numbers" ?

I pass from 3.5Ghz to 4.2Ghz on stock voltage and it runs fine, but on 4.3Ghz it crashes...
Gpu its the same thing, runnig over more 100mhz gpu/memory and it crashes...

Thanks for the help , i will post feedback

Every card and cpu have limits. You may be able to increase the voltage on the cpu to get by these limits, but you have to not push it too far and keep an eye on the temperatures.

Honestly 4.2 will not hold back a mid level video card anyway. You are at a point that a faster video card is a much better option than further overclocking.

The video card voltage is not changed like the cpu voltage(in fact allowing too much voltage would actually damage the power system on the card it self), I think you are stuck with whatever you can get on stock voltage.

Think of it this way, you got some free performance from the overclock.

Remember to test the video card with higher clocks on the gpu and memory separately since sometimes one can go further than the other.

I do not know what a 7850 goes for at stores you shop from, but it would be a decent step up for sure.

The 650 ti boost(has to be boost the normal 650 ti is not much better than a 7770) is also another option if you want on the green team.

I have an MSI card in my media center and so far it has been great. They also answer e-mails fairly fast(I had some pre-purchase questions on the exact dimensions of the cooler on the card.).
