More about psu wire cpu plug
  1. Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
  2. The 8 PIN splits and then you plug in one of the 4 pins.

  3. The picture is correct. So do I just use half of the 8 pin connector coming from the psu and plug to the 4 pin connector shown above? It will plug like that but wasn't sure if that's correct way to do it.

Should work, that is why they split into 2, just get the 4 pin and plug it in.

    Yes that will work!
  6. Ok I got it split now and hooked up. Thanks I had no idea that the plug would split. One other wire that I'm not sure where it hooks. It's a wire in the cabinet/ case that has HD audio with another wire with AC 97 on it.
  7. Bottom left of board should be an audio hookup.
  8. Okay I hooked it to the SDIF connector on MB. Does that sound right? If so thanks man. I'm doing my first build for my Grandson. Big gamer and order all the components with the money he got for Christmas. Thanks again.
  9. You should be good to go.
  10. Yeah until trying to get this thing started up and setting BIOS and OS going. Have a great weekend and thanks again SR-71 Blackbird.
