Another crossfire question (Yes, I read the sticky)

I've got an Asus HD 6670 (EAH6670/DIS/1GD5) and an XFX HD 6770. My wife is using the 6670 and I want to just add my 6770 to the mix instead of replacing (it's my old card I just upgraded from). The 6670 states on every website it's listed on as being Crossfire ready but it doesn't have a bridge (6770 does). I was told the 6670 can be paired with another 6670 and it's all handled by the PCIe slot. With the 6670 as the master will this still hold true (if it is true) with the 6770 in there as well as the slave?

Solution

Because they are in a different series. The 6770 can be crossfired with a 6750 but not a 6670.
So you read the sticky but didn't see this chart?

When I read over that it was underneath the crossfireX statement and thought it was a chart of cards capable of running 2+ in crossfire. 6670 wasn't even on the chart.
