I found when I updated the Samsung magician software, it wouldn't let me update the firmware, so I tried it without updating the software and it let me. IT said it had to reboot my PC to do so, so it spent 20 min on the shutdown screen doing apparently nothing. I manually reset it thinking it got stuck, and now my computer wont even detect the drive in the bios. IS there a way to restore it? or do I Need a new drive? IT worked fine with the standard firmware, but I was doing windows 8 clean upgrade and decided to try to update the firmware too.

Solution
As I suspected, the drive is dead and I don't have the stuff to upload firmware onto it. Samsung has to do that, luckily they have a good warranty. so I'm getting a replacement for no charge. If you have this issue, you'll probably have to do the same.

Don't try a firmware install on their drives without updating the Samsung Magician software, if it wont let you update the firmware, it's because it would fail.
