Urumiko :
Where are you based?
In the UK fiber speeds are advancing quickly, the best you will get is up to 20mb on top end fiber packages.
Unfortunatley SDSL (same upload and download speed) never took off as a consumer product and is therfore expensive, and not widely available.
If you need faster than 20mb then a least line will be the way to go and that will cost £100s. a month.
What are you hosting exactly?
If you get to the stage where you need that kind of throughput offsite hosting can be cheaper.
I am based in Rushden, Northamptonshire. I currently get 30 down and 2 up with virgin media. I could upgrade my package however this would only stretch it to 4. BT offer much higher uploads but I really don't know exactly what kind of speeds they will offer.
With there being a lot of heavy computer users in my family, I act as the base with several systems for file sharing between us etc. And I also run Minecraft servers for friends for fun however at the moment I am limited to about 5 players due to the upload speeds.
I don't really want to spend much more than I already am with Virgin Media, and I could never get a leased line (which would be epic). Do you know what companies would be best for upload with relatively standard costs?
Of course I am happy to go to a specialist company given that it won't cost me too much more than the standard fibre rate.
