Windows won't boot by Itself mobo setting issue?

motherboard i use......
Gigabyte Z77-G1-SNIPER-M3

When my computer boots up it won't boot windows automatically i have to press f12 (boot menu) to boot off my hard drive. How can I make it so I don't have to keep doing this every time?

Important info:
If I restart my computer, I don't have to press f12 to boot windows, it will do it automatically or if I turn off my computer BUT leave my mains power on. It's when I turn the power switch off like when I’m going out/going to bed and come back the next day and then turn the power switch on and turn my computer on i have to press f12 to boot windows.

Hope that made sense any advice guys?

In the bios setup under hardware components you need to set the hard drive as the first boot priority then dvd drive and other stuff comes after it. I had that problem about twice so far and this helped me solve it.

Kinda sounds that when losing power the CMOS gets resetted and goes back to a default order of booting, have you checked if the BIOS time changes after reconnecting the power (specially after going out for some hours)? if so your CMOS battery is low thus being unable to maintain the BIOS config while without power, replacing the CMOS battery would fix the problem.

But if i set my hard drive to #1 it asks me to insert a windows disc or summit ( i don't have cd rom atm)

Also if it was resetting my CMOS wouldn't that undo my cpu overclock? because my cpu is still running at 4.3 ghz

If it's not losing your OC then your CMOS battery is ok, are you running windows 8/8.1? some mobos have an specific option to support windows 8, perhaps you don't have that one turned on.

If you're using another windows however, I can't find another reason for not booting directly when choosing your hard drive (you're choosing the correct HDD I assume).

I'm using win 7 home premium. I only have 1 hard drive so, not sure what the issue is.

It's strange because I can leave my computer off for hours come back and as long as I've left the mains power on, When i turn my computer on everything will boot automatically.
