I have a Windows 8.1 system I want to run without a monitor and remote in with Team Viewer.

It is an Intel NUC (DN2820FYK) with integrated Intel HD graphics out through HDMI. When a display is connected, the NUC boots to 1920x1080 and I can remote into a full resolution remote display. If the display is off when the NUC boots and I remote in, I get a default VGA resolution of 640x480. Monitor driver is the generic Plug and Play monitor.

Any suggestions on how to force it to stay with a resolution instead of rolling back to base video resolution when the monitor is not attached (or tell it the base video resolution is 1920x1080.

Thanks.

I think it may be a safety thing. If the system had VGA, I was going to say you could build a dummy with some resistors and an adapter(DVI->VGA) to make it think it always had a screen.

When connected remotely can you change it to "Digital Flat Panel (1920 X 1080 60hz)" Windows has a built in driver for this.

Generic Non-PnP monitor may also unlock all resolutions, but I have not tried either.

Good idea to change the monitor driver to the 1920x1080 flat panel. Unfortunately, still defaults to 640x480 without the monitor after a reboot without a monitor connected. Same with Non-PnP monitor.
