Mixing memory speeds

I am currently building a new gaming rig, and I have come across a small issue. I have purchased 2 sticks of 4gb ddr3-1866 ram, so to have 8gb of total ram. However, I also have 2 sticks of 2gb ddr3-1333 ram from my old PC. I understand that if I add the old sticks of ram, my computer will only utilize 1333mhz out of my total ram; this is something I can live with. But, I was just curious whether or not this is a safety issue; will this affect the well-being of my PC? Any help is appreciated.

But you are wasting RAM speed For RAM you will never use, in most uses.

If you are gaming it is a total waste, of speed.

If you do photo shop, video editing, cad cam, the slower speed may be worth the extra memory.
