I recently bought a MSI 280x twin frozer and have a bunch of issues with it. I did a fresh copy of windows and when i loaded the catalyst 13.12 driver, windows will not start after the restart. I did a few restores and loaded different versions of the catalyst drivers, including 13.11 beta 9.5 all with the same results. My set up is Asrock 970 e4, sempron, 4gb, 750w PS. When i remove the 280x and put in my 7950, windows finds the card and installs the driver and the system works flawlessly. So at this time i have done a couple of fresh win7 installs and a bunch of restores and i have come to the conclusion that the 280x is bad and am about to return it.
Am i missing anything? Did not see any relevant settings on the MB bios. Also, the 280x has a dip switch for the 2 bioses - tried both with same results.
Any help and suggestions are appreciated!
