lately, my computer has been "crashing" and random moments resulting in a black screen. The most confusing part is that there is still signal on the monitor. Has anyone else experienced this before and has found a solution?
How are your temps on the graphics card(s). Does the system still seem to run normal (sounds, etc.) while you have no visuals or do other strange things happen too?
soon after the black screen the sound will shut off. No weird visuals occur, just a black screen. I've monitored my video card and it never goes above 70C. I'm going to try setting the video card to stock speeds on CCC and seeing if the problem persists.
I'm thinking a complete hardware rundown may be helpful including what cable is used for the monitor and how old the monitor is - could be the cable if HDMI
In Control Panel>Device Manager, are any notice indications shown?

Hi..there are many people who are experiencing this problem including me. The screen goes blank, all lights of keyboard are lit and you cannot restart the machine, you have to hold the power button to turn off the PC first and then go for a restart.
I recently upgraded my graphics card to AMD R7 260X and is suffering this issue. I have tried furmark GPU stress test and the temperature never goes above 82C.
Below are a couple of links with the same problem, you can try what these folks are suggesting and see if it works for you. I have tried them all and sadly NO RESOLUTION has been found yet
As I consider this further, I'm thinking it may be related to a Windows "Sleep State" issue to which I'll say, try disabling all hibernation/sleep options in BIOS (S1 - S4). See if any improvement then
