Need Assistance with CPU Cooling

Here's the situation, I want to OC my Phenom II x4 965 moderately and wanted to play with an aftermarket CPU cooler. Currently I have the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo and the Corsair H75 liquid cooler and have to decide which one I want to use and which to return.

I started with the CM Evo but figured out quickly that it will not fit in my ATX Mid case without changing out stock 250mm side panel fan for smaller fans then figure how to mount them. At this point it'll be nearly the same price but if I went with the H75 and I'll be able to keep my factory case fans and won't have to do any case modifications.

Which cooler would you go with if you had both on hand? Which will perform better cooling and consistancy over time?

** And FYI as I may get asked but I got the H75 with a family members discount at a tech shop locally. By the time I bought a couple 120mm fans to replace my large fan to accommodate the oversized air cooler, I'd be at the same price as the H75.

I used to have a Phenom II x4 955 and I have the Hyper 212 evo that I used on that too. The fan on it started to make crazy sounds so i replaced it with another one. Overall it's a great cooler I have my i5 running at 45C at 100% load. But since your case can't fit it you should go with the H75 because it's liquid and will keep it a lot cooler than the Evo

The evo is awesome, but if you've got the all in one cooler, I'd just use it. I myself wouldn't buy a case with a BA 250mm fan and NOT use it! I don't normally recommend all in one systems just because I prefer custom loops, but it'll still probably have lower max temps than the evo.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm leaning towards the H75 because it looks much cleaner in the box then my the large Evo with fans everywhere and I've enjoyed the way my box runs with my factory case fans. It was disappointing to find the Evo did not fit as I hoped as everyone said how great of a cooler it is.

At this point unless I found out the cooling properties of the H75 don't come close to the CM Evo I'll plan to begin to package the Evo back up.

Regardless of either one it was awesome to see how both of these work and I'm excited to get one installed and start playing with it!

I packed up the Evo today and installed my Corsair H75. I started playing with OC the Phenom 965 and ran 4GHz at max 52.5C core temperature for a 50 minute Prime load test. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing so in good tradition I decided I'll bump up to 4.2GHz and see what happens, first short 20 min 4.2GHz test ran fine at similar temps as the 4GHz range. I ended the test and rebooted for another reason then started another 4.2GHz test to which it then "crashed" as in the system rebooted automatically after about 15 minutes into that Prime test #2 at 4.2GHz (was not near computer to see temps).

It's late and I'm tired but excited to see what I can do with this setup tomorrow.
