Hello. I have a pretty old PC and I need to speed it up for gaming and multitasking. What are all of the best possible upgrades for P5LP-LE (Lithium) motherboard? I'd like to know the best RAM, CPU, and graphics card, please. I would replace my motherboard to a more modern one but I don't want to wipe my hard drive. I have Windows 7. Please and thank you in advance. Your help/advice is extremely appreciated

Upon further review, it appears there are four different versions of this motherboard: Lithium, Leonite, Leucite3, and Emery-UL8E.

Lithium can take either Pentium D (Smithfield) or Pentium 4 (Prescott 5xx/6xx) processors.
Leonite can take Core 2 Duo E6x00, Core 2 Duo E4x00, Pentium D 9x0 Dual Core, Pentium D 8xx Dual Core, Pentium 4 6x1 series, Celeron D 3xx series processors
Leucite3 can take either Pentium D (Smithfield 8xx) or Pentium 4 (Prescott 5xx/6xx) processors.
Emery-UL8E can take either Pentium D (Smithfield 8xx) or Pentium 4 (Prescott 5xx/6xx) processors.

Here are the motherboard specs: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c00379616

As Wolf says, DDR2 667 MHz, 4x1GB RAM will be a good upgrade. The Corsair CX 430 will be fine.

The E6700 (socket 775) even though it is not listed does not mean that it will not work. It means that the board was not tested with this CPU. It is possible, in fact likely, that this CPU was introduced after the board was on the market.

Take Wolf's advice.

Ok Ill take his advice, but i just wanted to make sure. But people have reported the CPU not working with the motherboard.

If people have reported that the E6700 does not work with this motherboard then you should not use this CPU.

The advice on the RAM upgrades will work! And upgrading the RAM is the most cost effective way of upgrading a computer.
