I'm seeing RAM that say they are 'designed for Sandy Bridge and LGA 1155 processors'.
Does this mean iam going to see a serious performance dip when they are plugged into a board supporting a different socket type? Is there a quick way to figure out what specific sticks of RAM are better suited to my MoBo and CPU?

Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VI GENE LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU: i5 4670k

Any DDR3-1600 1.5V RAM will be compatible.
Choose a 2x kit (e.g. 2x8GB) to make use of the two memory channels on this CPU.

Any particular model/unit that you're looking into?

It's labeled with "designed for Intel SB processors" but it doesn't mean that it'll not work with the Haswell line-up. It's just a way of saying that it has been tested or certified to run with SB. It will still work with your processor ;)

Also, check your motherboard on what frequencies it can run the memory modules.
