I have finally got myself a great computer but am having trouble with fps on many games like bf4, borderlands 2 and dayz standalone and some others.

My specs:
Amd fx 8350
Asus sabertooth 990fx
2 way sli asus 770's
16gb 1866mhz patriot viper ram
ssd
antec 850w modular psu

I built the computer myself so it is possible I made a mistake somewhere but I think it cant be too bad because the pc works.

Bf4 gets 60 fps on medium with and without sli.

10-30 fps on very low settings dayz

Borderlands 2 maxed out can drop to 10 fps but is normally at about 150.

I have a friend with a 7850 who gets better performance than me in many games.

unfortunatly the other games had no difference

no offense , i see you picked good parts , but i5 4670 is better than FX 8350 .It has 43% better result than FX 8350 in single core tests . It can handle easily GTX 770 SLI . The second thing , one card is always better than 2 .SLI and Crossfire lead to drop of the frames per second due to driver issues . I hope i am no right , in your case.

I hope you are not right too, however i do realize that this generation of intel processors take the crown but i would have thought that my cpu could hold a few games over 60 fps.

For a while I was thinking of upgrading my mobo and cpu but i realize that it would come at a great cost, probably 600+

the 8350 scores over 2k more in passmark than a 4670k and is an amazing gaming GPU. You won't need a cpu upgrade for a while. Intel is better, but the 8350 is amd's best gaming CPU and is more than capable of competing. Plus they overclock a lot better than haswell cpus.

FX 8350 is , from time to time , bottlenecking HD 7970 - 5-6% .

His temps are too high guys(he has a duplicate post)
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1997670/great-low-fps.html.

He says he gets 50-65C and even up to 70C (once). The max safe temps on an FX-8350's cores are 62C, so it could be thermal throttling. I highly suggest an aftermarket cooler.

there is reason in that .
