Hi guys I've been workin on my vapor-x 280x OC for the past few days and i managed to overclock it even more than the factory oc but i don't see much people on these kinda forums willing to overclock this far but anyways the factory oc clock was 1070 I turned it up to 1138 and my Mem clock was 1550 turned it up to 1573 it gave me quite a performance boost. So as long as it doesn't crash or be able to handle a stress test it should be fine right? I tested a even higher clock and it still survived the furmark test. Just wanted to turn it down a bit. Thanks! :)

your fine. just download gpuz or hwmonitor or use amd ccc to monitor your temps because you dont really want to be over 80c on the core. you can download occt which is a gpu stress test and run that to see if you black screen or lose the video driver. many people like to use unigine heaven or unigine valley because its nice to look at and gives you a score after then bench test so you see what improvements your making.

other than that no your not going to hurt anything, eventually you will lose the video driver and it will recover but no big deal, just as long as your temps dont get into the 94c+ range you wont damage anything, but seriously dont try to get that high, stay under 80c. i bet you can get upwards of 1200mzh before you start seeing instability.

it seems like it doesn't go over 60c when i go to 1145 but anything over that i start to get screen flickers so do you think i should just stick with my clock right now?

your at a decent clock and your temps are fine. but if you want to overclock more and learn a lot more about your card you should head over to overclock.nets official 280x owners thread because they will have a lot more extensive information about your particular card and will help you much more than toms can with overclocking...
