Can't recognize 4TB GPT HDD in Windows Explorer

OS: Windows 8 HDD: 4TB WD Green plugged in to a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk PC: Awesome home rig to Acer Aspire U all-in-one.

So this is a pretty weird problem. The drive worked perfectly fine on my home rig. Using this goflex desk thing, my 500GB NTFS and other identical 4TB drive (empty and NTFS) opens up in Windows Explorer no problem.

Diagnostics, diskcheck, disk management, etc. All show that the drive is online and healthy, but all options to tamper with the drive in any way or greyed out in disk management, and a volume doesn't show up for the drive in diskcheck.

Any ideas?

Do you see the partition type as "NTFS"?
Do you see a drive letter on the line above this?
If you right click in the partition (not on the disk at the left), do you see an option "Change drive letter and paths..."?

You mention both your home PC and the Aspire,
In the Aspire:
Is this disk installed internally?
IS this machine running Windows 8?

No dude, it's GPT.
No drive letter. All right-click options are greyed out and no volume appears in diskcheck to assign a letter as well.

It's an internal sitting on a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk. The same drive formatted in NTFS works just fine on it.

Open "Computer Management" -> "Disk Management",
right click "Disk x" and choose "convert to MBR disk".

That's the way I solved it.
