Does DMZ put me at risk

I put my xbox in my routers dmz and my game is a heck of a lot less laggy but i was setting up for my friends trickshot and i got threatened of ddos does having my xbox in dmz put me at more risk of it because in the past no one has been able to ddos me when they said they were trying to. that was before i put my xbox in dmz.

As far as I know all that is required for a DDOS attack is a user's IP address. Since the goal is to flood the IP address and not a specific device, the router is a non factor in this case. And while I'm no expert on the matter, I would imagine that a xbox live user's IP address would be difficult to obtain since the internet traffic goes through xbox live servers.
