I have a Vapor-X R9 290x OC version and a CoolerMaster Thunder 700W

Is 700W sufficient ? It is recommended that a 750W(or more) power supply should be provided to the gpu.

PS am not overclocking any component in the rig

They only put 750w as the recommended wattage in case retards with generic china made PSUs try to use the card. You'll be fine with that PSU, its got a decent single 12v rail.
