I have a 1440x900 monitor. And right now, I'm trying to get a good graphic card to play newer game. Recently, I heard about the gtx 760 and its great p/p. So I'm gonna get it, but first I need some help from you guys to make something clear for me:
1. Will PCI-e 1 affect the card's performance much? (I will try to upgrade the mainboard as soon as possible)
2. Will a PSU with 85% efficiency suffice the need of gtx 760 and a Ivy bridge cpu (haven't choose one, can you guys suggest a cheap i3)?
Thanks in advance :)

At 1440x900, you don't even need something as powerful as the GTX 760. Hell, a GTX 650 Ti Boost will probably max out everything you throw at it at that resolution.

That said, a PCIe x1 port will bottleneck the crap out of the GPU in games, and you'd need an adapter for it anyway. If you mean PCIe version 1.x at 16x, however, you will be able to run the graphics card, but if you have such a mainboard your CPU's likely gonna be a bottleneck on almost any game you play.

As far as power supply efficiency is concerned, it doesn't directly matter; as long as it supplies the required wattage the card will run. However, keep in mind that lower efficiency means more heat (higher power bill, shortens the life of every part in you computer, can cause thermal throttling in certain setups) and generally also means lower quality parts, which means less power stability (which will shorten the life of components and can increase the odds of a component catching fire) and a shorter life on the supply itself. For these reasons, I never skimp on a good power supply. Especially if the one you're mentioning is already old.
