Hello my friends. In june I will build a gaming rig under 800 dolars, or less. Last 2 months i'm looking to benchmarks whether i5 or fx (8320,6300) It seems like i5 with only quad core will fall off pretty hard this year, considering the new game The Thief has reccomended setup: i7 or fx-8320. It seems like intel i5 has no future proof whatsoever and they are even more expensive than fx-8320 !! Nowadays if anyone asks if i5 or fx all peoples are like: get the i5 for gaming, otherwise AMD for rendering, etc. But amd is no longer researching better architecture for cpu, but for APU which i think will not be so usefull for gaming, or am I wrong ? It's really suprizing but the new A10-7850k got nice performance per one core, but quad core is step back from 83XX. So do you guys think for next couple months will get APUs better or even then will be 83XX better buy ? Or intel will make something outside Haswell-E (8 cores) for 600 dolars ? It is not choice for somebody who wants to build a computer rig with cap of 1000 dolars, even then i7 is quite for that.

Intel is a very pricy items from now on!
4th Gen intel has better OC potential than the AMD (this is what I read from the article) especially intel core i5.

When it comes to GAMING, personally I prefer AMD because of the core speed and the amount of core that they provided.

APU is a mid end CPU. it is a very budget item that contain both GPU and CPU.
And yea...... APU doesn't consume as much power than the FX. normally a 450w or 500w is more than enough for the APU unless you're doing the crossfire.

* APU with crossfire is definitely awesome!!! price to performance I mean......
