Hi All,
I am working on a render farm for my work and have a question about configuring the RAID controller. We have 12 HP DL360 G5 servers with the P400i RAID controller that I am needing to install Win 7 to (we're not going to be using these servers for more than their ability to open 3d models and render them so not only will we not be needing the server attributes of win 2008 but we actually have to have win 7 for the programs we're running). I haven't been able to run smart start on it yet but until now I haven't been able to figure out how to configure them to recognize a single drive . We don't need RAID on these nodes just enough storage for an operating system and 3 programs. Is it possible to configure the controller to not use RAID and only operate of a single disk like a workstation or do we have to configure a RAID setup? If so, how would one go about doing this? Is this all in the smart start cd and i'll discover it on monday when I get back to it?

Thanks!

It's on the smart start CD. I think JBOD is right one. You may face some other problems with this setup. Not al win7 versions support dual cpu setup and as far as i know, there is no network driver for win7.
