i5 vs i3 3rd gen for laptop which one is good for gaming.

Solution
It also depends what games you are playing. However, if you intend to play any of the fairly demanding modern games be prepared to spend $1000+ though opinions vary.

The CPU is important, but the GRAPHICS (GPU) is arguably more important. Pretty much every laptop I've seen with reasonably good graphics like a 750M or better had an adequate CPU.

Here is an EXAMPLE of what I would consider a "gaming" laptop: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/15-6-touch-screen-laptop-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive/8937158.p?id=1218954926513&skuId=8937158&st=categoryid$abcat0502000&cp=1&lp=1

Here's a more expensive model ($1290) with a great AMD APU in it (similar to the PS4 APU). A laptop with an APU (a good one) is worth considering as we'll see some future games...

A laptop with an APU (a good one) is worth considering as we'll see some future games using MANTLE which you can Google if you wish: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/fangbook-evo-17-3-laptop-8gb-memory-750gb-hard-drive/1992033.p?id=1219068210815&skuId=1992033&st=categoryid$abcat0502000&cp=1&lp=1

*Avoid any laptop with AMD Dual graphics (an APU plus second GPU).
