Hi Guys,

I have recently built a gaming PC but the keyboard, mouse and monitor are currently not working, i have the USB motherboard wire connected in the USB 1.0 slot, i have also tried the USB 2.0 slot..

The monitor is getting power but only having the orange light..

Any ideas what the cause of this might be and what i can do to fix it?

Thanks!

Further to this, i have a sapphire graphics card which according to the specs requires a minimum of 500w psu to support, my psu is currently 500w maybe i need a psu with higher wattage?

to check out about your watts psu problem, just unplug your gpu and connect your screen to motherboard port. Let me know if it boots up.

Pull and reinstall your DRAM. Still doesn't work?
Unplug psu cable from psu. Clean your ram slots and insert one stick in first slot. Reseat the CMOS battery. By removing it for atleast 5 mins and then reinstalling the CMOS battery. Don't forget to unplug you PSU cable from PSU before removing the battery. Plug the psu cable and start your pc.
Still doesn't?
insert other ram stick in same slot by replacing previous one.
Also get a vga to hdmi connector to plug your monitor to mobo.

last thing you can do is either check your ram compatibility with your mobo+get a vga to dvi connector to check if your system boots up using your mobo instead of gpu.
If nothing works at all, i suggest you kindly get your motherboard checked, might be a faulty one.

I have ordered a dvi to vga connector I do not think it is mobo as I sent off to ebuyer and they said it all worked fine. I will await psu to be delivered and let you know

i don't see any Back Panel Connector for your monitor on your motherboard, there won't be any use of connector so you might also inspect the cable you are using to connect your gpu and screen. And the gpu you have stated reqires minimum of 450 watts power.

ok just check with your new psu. If the problem still doesnt work out, Indications are still that your mobo can be faulty.

Also i found this info somewhere, see if it helps:
(1) Turn off the computer.

(2) Remove all the external peripherals like PSU, keyboard, Flash drives, etc.

(3) Press and hold the power button for 30sec which releases the static on the computer (if any).

(4) Put back the PSU and try turning on the computer.

That convo is interesting.. sounds like it could be the mobo. When you say remove the psu do you mean just remove the power cable?

just go to service center and get it checked once before you apply for new mobo. There can be minor fault too which could save your money. If its major fault then you better off with new mobo :)

Have you checked with other monitor cable for display?
In my second pc, my mobo is gigabyte ga945gcm-s2l. In bios there is an option under 'Integrated Peripherals'
"USB Keyboard Support" & "USB Mouse Support"
I think you would have them in your mobo bios too. And they must have been disabled(By default).

are you using monitor with gpu or motherboard? If gpu, use motherboard.
CMOS will reset the bios to default mode, but USB Keyboard Support & USB Mouse Support are disabled in default mode. So no use for them in bios default, but just to test it, go ahead and do it :D
