Hi i've recently acquired a graphics card and have been using intel hd 4000 before that.
i am struggling with some problems after installation.
1. Random FPS drop in any game.
2. Blackscreen freezing
3. Screen has weird patterns on it and needs to be restarted .
4. pc feels slugish
5. AMD error on windows 7 (recovers etc etc)
-
Specs:
ASUS P8B75-M
i7 3770(K)
4GB 1600mhz DDR3 G.Skill ram
1TB SSHD Seagate hybrid HDD
750W WideTech PSU
ASUS R7 260x Direct CU II OC
-
before i was using intel hd 4000 and everything was smooth overall .
things i have tried.
- Different Drivers , from ASUS website and AMD . all of them are garbage.
- Formated windows incase there was previous driver files etc
- used gputweak to underclock and over etc etc tried seeing if anything was stable
- played games ( battlefield 4 / CSGO ) on lowest and highest all same result
- monitored the temps GPU is around 40 on idle and 60 whilst gaming.

im concered my psu might not be efficient but also want to search other options?
any help would be appreciated

While I don't have the ASUS version, I do have the Gigabyte OC edition. I've been having problems with black/green screen crashes during youtube/streaming videos randomly. It seems like a lot of people are having issues with the R9 260x which sucks, because it's a good card when it works properly.

although mines 'R7' not 'R9' i have to agree with you . this card for the price ( 200 Australian dollars ) i get really good frames etc when it wants to work.
i play battlefield 4 / COD Ghost / CSGO maxed out on 720p . sometimes it wont bug out for awhile its great :) but then there are them days :( .

I've come to a conclusion that its 99% bad drivers . and we need AMD to fix these bugs ASAP , does anyone here know if i can get in contact with them? thanks

I am having the same issue with a VisionTek R7 260x. Never had an issue with it while gaming, but it has black screen crashed a couple times under normal web surfing loads. Like everyone else I love the card when it isn't having issues.

I went Nvidia )

I think its the bios together with the drivers. My conclusion is that the 2d state, whenever its triggered, boom. crash bsod etc.

Try OCing the 2nd state and have a constant memory setting. (using GPU tweak)

try that. and the 13.20 first release drivers

Anyway, im going to the 750ti and have fun with its bios ^^
