Good write/read speed raid0

I think not.

It is really not a good test.

Do not be much swayed by synthetic SSD benchmarks.
They are done with apps that push the SSD to it's maximum using queue lengths of 30 or so.
Most desktop users will do one or two things at a time, so they will see queue lengths of one or two.
What really counts is the response times, particularly for small random I/O. That is what the os does mostly.
For that, the response times of current SSD's are remarkably similar. And quick. They will be 50X faster than a hard drive.
In sequential operations, they will be 2x faster than a hard drive, perhaps 3x if you have a sata3 interface.
Larger SSD's are preferable. They have more nand chips that can be accessed in parallel. Sort of an internal raid-0 if you will.
Also, a SSD will slow down as it approaches full. That is because it will have a harder time finding free nand blocks to do an update without a read/write operation.

I have used ssd in raid-0 before. It is not worth it.
I saw no real world performance improvement over a single 120gb ssd.
Only if you are looking for a single 120gb image, maybe.

I think you would do better by using one for the os and the other for data.

Hum one drive and the quoted read write specs.
the drives should be a sata 2 or 3 device. what version are the drives vertex 2 or 3.

60-64GB Max Performance
Max Read: up to 525MB/s
Max Write: up to 475MB/s
Random Write 4KB: 50,000 IOPS
Maximum 4K Random Write: 80,000 IOPS

Not really. This is my Kingston 128GB boot drive

I would recommend keeping the RAID-0 array until you upgrade to a single larger capacity drive.

I had 2 60GB OCZ Vertex 2 in RAID-0 as my O/S drive from 2009 until I upgraded to a Samsung 840 EVO. My real-world performance was better with the drives in RAID-0 than using the drives separately.

When I used the drives separately I only had 55.8GB capacity after formatting, and then Windows took up an additional 20GB.

If you're deciding whether to buy to 2 60GB SSDs or 1 120GB drive then I recommend the 120GB drive.
Since you already have 2 60GB SSDs then I suggest RAID-0.
