Hi, I completed my first build last night and plugged my monitor, keyboard, headset etc. in and expected it to work, but it just would not power on. So, I removed all the cables and rewired the system today, it still won't power up. I don't know whether one of the components is broke or if I have set it up wrong as this is my first build. The led on the power button on the motherboard lights up for a moment and then goes back of when I switch on the PSU. What could it be? I have posted some pictures below incase I have installed something incorrectly.

Yes, when I clear CMOS it blinks but thats about all it does, and i have installed 9 standoffs and screws so I don't think it is touching the case? Could it still be touching? What is a short circuit problem? Thanks

I have tried it and it still did not work, but i plugged everything back in and used the self test button and everything worked for about 5 seconds. What does this mean? Is it my motherboard, proccessor, RAM or anything like that? Thanks

Ok, I have looked around on the web and it said to clear the CMOS, so i tried it and it sort of powered up. I have now figured out that I have to hold the self test button on the PSU and then press clear CMOS and it will boot up. What does this mean? Do I have to replace the CMOS battery? Thanks in advance
