so right now i been using wireless internet for my xbox and gaming pc. lately my internet has been crap and disconnects me from games on xbox. and when i go to download thing on either pc or xbox they are really slow. uploading a 2gb video to youtube takes 5hours for me. but if i were to get a 2way powerline to use for both my xbox and pc will it increase my gaming, upload, download ping? i would just do ethernet cords but wires would be exposed and dont feel like paying $125 for someone to route one wire :/. anyways i hope one of you have a answer. thanks for looking.

Before you spend a lot of money buy a cable and string it over the floor just as a test. This should show you the best possible speed you can get. If it is still slow then you have a issue with the ISP or maybe you have to buy a better internet connection.

Powerline devices tend to be more stable..ie they don't drop as much. They also do not have to compete with the neighbors for radio bandwidth. They are not necessarily faster than wireless. A very good wireless signal can be faster. It very tough to say which is faster since it very much depends on your house. Both the powerline devices and wireless function very differently from house to house. Bad news is there are the very rare houses powerline does not work in at all. Be sure you plug them directly into the wall outlets. No surge protectors or extension cables.
