Is a 500W PSU enoguh for my build (CX Series)?

Solution
If you are using the same Corsair PSU but in a bigger size, they should safely swap if you don't want to do a rewire job. The exception would be if the PCIe aux cables were 6 pin on one and 6/8 pin on the other. Actual wire size should be the same.

And I could be surprised. Pick your self up a Kill-a-watt meter and plug your PC into it. You can keep an eye on amps, watts, volts, etc just by pressing a button. You might find that your PC use is well below the max wattage of the PSU. Keep in mind you want to stay below 80% of max wattage (as read at the wall socket) for best results.

Oh man :( I already ordered it a month ago off amazon, would I have bought a 600W...

Next year, I'll probably replace it, but when installing can I just take all the cables out of the 500W PSU, switch the PSU's and plug all the cables into the new PSU and turn on my PC? Or do I have to install it the new PSU with a driver or something? basically what i'm trying to ask is, do PSU's need drivers/installs?
