Hey guys, new to the forum.

Specs:

AMD Phenom ii X4 940 BE (overclocked to 3.6 ghz with stock cooler)
Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 mobo
4 gigs G.skill PC2-6400 DDR2 ram
650 watt OCZ psu
HIS radeon hd 6850

Passmark Rating: 1,623

Thoughts:
-Add another 4 gigs ram
-Aftermarket cpu cooler to further OC
-Upgrade GPU

I have around $300 to spend.

Is it even worth upgrading, or should I bite the bullet and build a new PC? What could I do to make the most of this PC?

Thanks!

What are you upgrading for? Video editing? Gaming? Encoding?

Your RAM is going to be VERY expensive to replace or upgrade because it has not been made for many years.

You could get a new GPU for around $200 but your CPU would bottleneck and your RAM as well.

It really is a choice of upgrade one thing to have everything else be a bottleneck or save up more and build a new computer.

If I were you, I would upgrade everything nit the GPU, and then get a new GPU when you have the money.

A bit over budget, but then all you need is a $200+ GPU and you are playing at max settings.
