I have an Asus P5ldr Deluxe motherboard. I recently installed a Coolermaster Hyper T4 CPU Cooler. Since installing it I have not been able to get to POST. The monitor screen remains in standby mode. The power button switches the PC on. The fans power up and the motherboard LED is on but the screen remains blank. I previously had an Intel stock heat-sink installed and this problem never occurred then.
I had to purchase another heat-sink as the plastic clips that fasten the Intel one to the motherboard broke off. If the coolers 4 pin connector is now in the CPU power 4 pin slot how is the CPU being powered? Any ideas what might be causing this non-boot up?

Did you take out the CPU when you changed the cooler?

You're not supposed to plug the fan into the cpu power plug. There's a cpu fan header near the socket. That's where you plug in the fan

Thanks for your quick responses. I took out the CPU to clean off baked on thermal paste and replace it with new paste. That was when the original heat-sinks fasteners broke. I did plug the fan into the socket marked CPU_FAN (above the RAM DIMM slots). I aligned the CPU with the gold triangle and the socket alignment key and it appeared to slot in nicely.

I seated the CPU prior to the no boot problem occurring (before I attached the new cooler).
