Should I download it on another computer and put it on a USB? Or should I wait for a disc?

I much prefer USB. It's faster, more convenient. I don't even own a disc drive nowadays! You'll need a minimum 8Gb memory stick.

I'll suggest you to download it in the computer that you will use for the installation, you can use a USB stick with at least 4GB of storage. You can transfer this directly from the Windows Upgrade Assistant or you can create the ISO and then download WintoFlash or Rufus to transfer the ISO to the USB. Then boot from the BIOS and voile

usb works fine, just be sure to run this command when you have finished the install and setup/updates
start cmd.exe as a admin (windows key+x then type a)
sfc.exe /scannow <--- this will check to make sure your core OS files were copied correctly

(cheap USB thumb drives tend to have more data errors, mostly because people do quick formats on them to save time)

If you have the product key for your Windows 8 you can use the Windows Upgrade Assistant tool from Microsoft to download and transfer Windows 8 to a USB or Disc, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/upgrade-pr... if you go to that website you'll be able to follow the steps and download the tool.
