M5A99FX PRO R2.0 not compatible with G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4GB 2133Mhz?

Hey guys,
I've finally finished my first build, but haven't been able to turn on my machine as whenever I do I get a black screen and one long beep, followed by two short ones. In the user guide, it is said this means no memory. Does this mean my G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4GB 2133Mhz aren't compatible with the MOBO (M5A99FX PRO R2.0)? Is there anything I can do? Already tried changing slots and trying out memory cards separetely, but nothing works! Help, please!

  1. Should be compatible. Make sure your RAM is installed in the Blue RAM slots.

Should at least boot to the mobos default, may have some overly tight slots, try with a single stick first and make sure it is firmly seated, should make a click when inserted and the clips should lock themselves in, if that works, then try the second .... if no joy with either, see if you can try a different stick, because it may not be ther DRAM itself, if different sticks don't work then it's either the mobo or the CPU (the MC primarily inside it), so may want to pull the CPU and check for bent/broken pins
  3. I feel so stupid now. Turns out the ram hadn't latched on completely yet. I pushed it until it clicked and bam! Works like a charm. Thanks a lot, guys!
  4. No worries, glad to help, happens to folks all the time, have fun ;)
