Best RAM for Sabertooth Z87 with i7 4771

Normally suggest at least 16GB for that type of work, and will want fast sticks would look at 1866 or 2133 in a 2x8GB set or go for the full 32GB in 4x8GB, primary suggestion would be the GSkill Tridents or their Snipers - just a thought would also suggest the 4770K, most of my clients doing the higher end work like this prefer the K model as they can OC in the future and prolong the life of the rig

Thanks. The Sniper 1866 looks to be suitable. Presumably, it doesn't need a snap-on fan like the Corsair Dominators I have.

I did look at the 4770K, but I don't overclock.

None of the DRAM 'NEEDs' a cooling fan, most might coole an extra 2-3 degrees, but modern DDR3 seldon really gets hot, except those with low freq and high DRAM voltage like many of the 1600 1.65 sets.

As far as the 4770K, may not want to OC now but a year or so down the road, might come in handy, plus it's not hard, in fact to OC to 4GHz, basically is just a simple change of the multiplier
