UEFI and Windows 7 Won't find hard drive plus clicking noises

I reecently took the hard drive out of my sky box to upgrade it (500gb Pipeline to 1TB Barracuda) and when i got it out and put into my pc nothing could pick it up including the bios. I tried all the sata ports and checked everything and found a scratch on the back pcb. It also makes clicking noises when powered up. Help?

  1. Probably dead. The clicking noise is usually the hard drive failing to gain speed.

Well zeph_yr was close. The clicking sound is actually caused by a damaged actuator arm in the hard drive. If there is important data on that drive you cannot go without I would look into a data recovery service as the data is still there. If it does not contain any important data I would check to see if it is still under warranty and try to get it replaced. If it is out of warranty the trash is a good place for it.
