Hello,
My i7 2600k was able to get stable overclock at 4.4 ghz with MSI z68ma-g43 motherboard. I changed my motherboard to ASUS Maximus V Extreme but I can't get stable 4.4 ghz under Prime95 test.
I tried set my voltage to 1.450 (1.330 was enough for old mobo) but still same BSOD problem. I can't pass 4.2 Ghz. I almost changed every setting in BIOS, underclocked my RAM sticks, disabled EIST & C1, increased PLL, phase controls, watched videos about overclocking with MvE etc.
Here is detailed specs:
i7 2600K
Maximus V Extreme (latest BIOS)
780Ti
Corsair Vengeance CL9 1600 mhz
Corsair HX850 PSU
3.4 Ghz bottlenecks few games so badly. Civilization V (on huge map, 41CS, 22 Players), Shogun 2 (4000 vs 4000 battles), GTA IV etc. But I wonder why I can't go for 4.4 ghz ?
Also, my adjustments in Vcore doesn't look like they have an effect on my Vcore. I set it to 1.425 (doesn't matter if I use offset mode or manual mode and it doesn't make difference 1.425 or 1.350), but both Asus AI Suite II and CPUz shows maximum 1.304 voltage during Prime95 test.
Edit : Before you ask; BIOS saves my OC settings (vcore and others etc.) and I use save and restart option.
