I currently have a Radeon 5770 and the fan stopped working, so I picked up a Radeon r7 250. After the install, nothing displays on my monitor. I have a 600 watt power supply so I do not think that is the problem. Does anyone have any answers on why there is no signal on my monitor.

Solution

so it's becoming common issue with some AMD cards and their drivers. Anyway, that would be better deal going with NVidia gtx 660 but would have been best in your case if you had gone with gtx 760(about $50 more). You will still be good with gtx 660. Good luck ;)

Plug your monitor to motherboard> remove gpu> reboot and download Driver sweeper from here: http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/guru3d_driver_sweeper.html and extract it.
And download CCleaner from here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ and install it.
Then follow the steps below:
1. Uninstall your graphics driver through the control panel->Program and Features.
2. (Important)Restart and boot into safe mode.
3. Run Driver Sweeper and unistall all gpu drivers in your pc.
4. Restart and boot to the regular desktop.
5. Run CC Cleaner and remove registries.
6. Plug your gpu and plugin pcie connector in your gpu
7. Reboot your pc
8. Install the new drivers.

I have a similar problem with my new ASUS R7 260x OC 2GB. After installing the drivers I get black screens when I restart my pc clicking the restart windows button from the start menu (Win 8.1 64bit) The black screens appear when the user login screen should appear. Then I have to hard reset my pc and I get the login normally, then everything works fine, problem only occurs when I restart using the windows button... I followed all steps mentioned by brarboy and problem still persists.
Please help

try downgrading your OS, if you already have. Or try to use Linux, just to check OS software compatibility issue.

Your windows must be installed in uefi mode instead legacy mode or else any cards compatible by uefi will not boot into legacy mode, reinstall graphic card driver in windows uefi mode and everything 100 percent works
