how do i change the source on my windows 8.1 laptop to play my ps3 throgh it?

i have an hp laptop with windows 8.1 and I want to play my ps3 through it. But I cant find how to changethe source to HDMI to actually play my ps3 on my laptop. that's the only thing I need.. please help

You can't, laptop hdmi slots are output not input

Exactly. You can only play a PS3 with a compatible HDMI desktop monitor or HDTV.

you can use laptops to output video to another display (say another monitor or a projector)
but no input (i have yet to see one at least), besides, laptop displays are too small imo
