trying o install win7 64 bit. My computer is 64 bit compatible, but when I install the os, it gets right past the "setup is starting services" screen and my monitor shuts off. The pc stays on, but nothing on the screen. a reboot only gets to the windows splash screen and then same problem. I installed windows 8 32 bit just fine, but win7 64 bi is having issues. Could it have something to do with my graphics card? Maybe my boot sequence? ive tried to install via disk and usb.

Dell optiplex 960
3.0 core2duo

Not sure, it was a shot, because it installs on a 32 bit system, I thought a possible a bad address might have been out of a 32 bit systems range.

My first Windows7- 64 bit system was just assembled last week.

I've installed Linux 64bitt several computers, and had a little trouble with this Gateway piece of junk, I'm typing on, but I eventually won.
Seems to me I had trouble with Linus12.04-64bit, but 13.10-64bit works fine.

It could be a component.
I don't think it would be the motherboard.
