I am going to be building a new gaming computer soon, and I just wanted to show off what the parts are probably going to be, I won't be able to build it for a few months so if you like this build and would like to see it finished I will probably make a post about it with pictures, so if you want to see it you could make a reminder about it :)

But, to the build. My target was $1500, but it went a bit over due to the extra case fans (the LED ones are for the front of my case), and the Wireless Network Adapter that I have to get because I sadly can't use LAN yet. So here it is:

CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($89.43 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($136.98 @ Best Buy)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($84.54 @ Amazon)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($94.99 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($87.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB Video Card ($499.99 @ NCIX US)
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WDN3800 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter ($24.99 @ Microcenter)

Waste of money on the H80i, a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo will give you about same performance with cheaper price and no maintenance. 16gb of RAM is a waste of money for gaming, games can't even utilize 8gb yet. Other wise it's good

I would drop to only 8gigs of ram, and look into getting a 4670k with a z87 board. The intel cpu's still do better in benchmarks than the amd, and there wouldnt be a big price difference(330ish, depending on what motherboard you choose). Also, unless you are planning on some serious overclocking, you shouldnt need all the extra fans, that could potentially drop ~70 dollars from the build, which is about half of what you would need to bump up to a 780ti. Might also consider getting a 120 or 250g ssd, the load times are infinitely better for games and os with an ssd.

You should try to get a 16GB memory kit, instead of buying 2 different kits. It's not a HUGE deal, but there are reasons, for instance if you want to OC your RAM, you'll want memory that's been binned together, has same CAS latency, etc...

Also, for a few extra bucks I'd recommend an overclocked video card. EVGA makes great ones and their ACX cooler is actually pretty good and quiet. (http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=03G-P4-2784-KR). That one is $20 more, and it's got a 12% overclock. That's incredible performance for just $20, plus you get a very good cooler on it. You could even go further and get a classified, which is most likely binned even higher and will overclock even better.

Good luck.
