I have a Gigabyte R9 270x Graphics Card. If i had another one, would that double what my gpu can do now. So i can't run game on max settings. If a had another then would i be able too?
i7 will, but 270X CFire will only help in games. For other software You use You should check carefully if it supports CrossFire, because if not there will be no performance gain, and You will get upset
What games are you running? Doubling graphics card does not double ability. There is a scaling factor for additional cards, but still massive advantages can be gained.
theoretically, the performance should double, but that is ideal. sometimes it will be around that (double), but sometimes no. also, it depends on you cpu, if it's too slow it will bottleneck the 2 gpu.
also, keep in mind the power requirement. also, check your board if it supports xfire
Ok well i have a R9 270x, so a pretty good GPu, but my CPU AMD FX-6300 isn't as good. If i were to get a much better CPu like an Intell Core I7-4770K, would that mean i would get a much better performance when i play games?
if you were to sumarise a performance gain i would say 20-35% but a high end always better than 2 mid end. currently both Sli & CF have issues in games & the games have to have the profiles enabled in order to make max use of the 2 gpus
No, You are wrong.. 2 GTX760 beats one 780 (at same price) Cross-fire/SLI scaling factor is rather good now, sometimes it can reach up to 95%.. Although it depend on games also.
On subject, check this on Cross-fire performance levels:
And of course CPU can and will bottleneck You, because You will double GPU performance, and it is not the best CPU out here. Though latest i5 can do the job, i7 is not necessary for 2x270x

if he has a silver or gold psu fine enough. Cf /Sli are still not fixed, that why certains games have problems running the 690/ 7990 . also unless you have a good cooling cabinet the last thing you would want is heat remaining within your chassis. the golden rule any member would notify you..... 1 high end gpu IS always better than 2 mid end gpus unless you have extreme budget issues
Of course, but main titles have perf. gain, if not on release but they fix it with drivers/game updates.
PSU is also not the thing to forget, as i see 1000W needed. But if OP has one card i don't see a problem to get second, Crossfired 270x keeps at 780 or 290 levels (depending on title of course).

Wait i don't understand, why wouldn't an I7 be better than the latest I5.

not 1000 a 650 gold or 700 silver can easily handle cf/ sli

i7 is def good & it has hyperthreading but mainly if your using highly threaded applications such as photoshop, adobe, corel draw, video editing, music mastering etc. for best bang for buck the extra 100$ doesnt translate as performance gain in gaming for majority games that why most gamers stay away from i7 who prefer to sink that money into a better gpu. if you are into video editing, drawing, photo editing or using heavy threaded apps thats where the i7 will win hands down. theoretically i7 is really worth it, i would reccomend 1 .
To caj> in case one already own one card there is a reason to go CF, of course there is some +/- but it is also fun
i5 is not better, but i7 is not necessary, if You can afford it, go with it of course. Don't forget that You need PSU and good airflow in case.
So + for 2x270x - outperforms top-end in certain titles (check reviews) cost less, fun
- You need 1000W PSU, HOT, You can have troubles with some game titles also.
"not 1000 a 650 gold or 700 silver can easily handle cf/ sli"
I see 2x270x system eats 825W (at full load, and they have i7 + water cooling) so 1000 i think. Check link above. For something like 2XGTX760 700W would be fine of course.
So if i were ever to upgrade, i would be looking at a
1. Better PSU Silver or Gold
2. An I7, i am into editing and stuff like that
3. A better case, one with a better cooling system
4. And i think i need a CPU cooler as well
And if getting another R9 270X will make a big difference for the future, I should get one
Hey, if You are into editing and things more than gaming, i think You should look at single GPU set-up... CF/SLI is mostly for games... Not all VIDEO EDITING software support multi-gpu set-up. So be careful.

Decide what is the top priority.
I am a gamer and a creative person aswell, i do both. So i guess an I7 would work for me
