I'm a first time gaming PC builder and I see that the motherboard I bought isn't compatible with my processor. I've looked all over and I can't find my processor to be compatible with my motherboard. The motherboard is a Gigabyte 990fxa-UD3. If someone could please confirm the incompatibility, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

No, it's a FM2 socket CPU and your board is an AM3+ board. You board is compatible with all of AMD's FX series processors.

Yeah it's incompatible. You need an FM2 motherboard.

Thanks so much. What do you recommend for an FM2 board?

you need a FM+ mobo, don't forget the "+". Wanna sell me that motherboard you got by mistake? ;)

Edit: Opps, i thought I saw kaveri somewhere, you just need FM but getting a FM+ can't hurt to future proof yourself a little bit
