so i have a amd 6300 i want to get a new mobo will the 8350 last in upcoming games and also what is a good motherboard for the 8350 (high power usage chip) if you think i should go intel tell me why please and is there a way of not having to buy a new product code after i upgrade mobo :D

i'm not familiar with current amd offerings, but they have not produced anything (again i am outdated) remarkable for quite some time. I am not a fan of either camp (had both intel and amd), i just buy the best bang for my buck. so far it has been intel for the cpu

Can't we all please agree that the 8350 is out of the picture? He should get a 8320 instead...

Most games today are not single-threaded, most games uses atleast 2 threads.
I also bet we wont see anything heavily threaded in the near future(4 threads or more).
8350 is a bad choice when he can get 8320 with a cooler.

What I meant was he shouldn't consider the 8350 when he can get a 8320 with a decent cooler.
Ofc the i5-4670 outperforms any 8xxx CPU, no doubt.

that is a console, games on consoles are general better coded, they also have a mantle-a-like API.
So in general games takes less resources. PC games Dev also used to do this.

Come on, you should know there is more into it that just GHz...

Console games are utilizing the resources better, nothing that would impact how future PC games will be coded.
