hi guys,
I'm looking to get a decent graphics card for gaming, browsing etc. My budget is set at around $500AU, I have no clue on what to get and don't want to make the wrong choice money wise.

I was also thinking about getting a SSD, only just to put windows on. What would you recommend?

Specs:
SyncMaster P2370HD 1080p
i5-3570K
Asrock Z77 Extreme3
Antec High Current Gamer 620W Power Supply HCG-620

What games do you plan to play mostly?
For example, BF4 is mostly optimised for AMD cards, and Mantle should come out these days, which should also improve the performance a bit.
In this case, the R9 280x is also a worthy sugestion.

Depending on the price, you could look at the Sapphire R9 280x Toxic or Vapor-x, or Asus R9 280x DCII Top/Matrix Platinum.

A good SSD is the Samsung 840 Pro 128 Gb (good for Windows + 2-4 games).

Was just browsing through the specs, but I believe the 120gb is slower in write speed compared tot he 250g/s. Is that a significant difference, would you notice it?

I play some regular FPS games csgo, cod etc. BF4 I don't have/Don't like it, I did have a AMD 7790HD Sapphire and my god is it rubbish. AMD drivers are annoying and took me 15 tries to get it installed properly and working, so i try to void the AMD, would prefer Nvidia (Should have included that in the OP lol.).

The SSD you suggested is good but im leaning towards whitecats suggestions purely because they have better stats/reviews.

Would it be worth getting the 250g for an extra $80 or would it be a waste of $80?

Usually GTX 760 is enough but GTX 770 is great .
GTX 770 is 47% faster than GTX 660
GTX 760 is 23% faster than GTX 660.

True, might get the GTX 770 then. Do you rate the EVGA brands or is Asus brands the top of the line?

Asus is maybe nuber one .You mean 4GB vs 2GB .For me , 2GB VRAM is enough unless the cpu and the RAM are slow..
