Last week I finished building my new budget gaming PC and everything has been going great. Up until yesterday, I was playing all games completely fine. Then, Far Cry 3 decides it wants to start rebooting my computer. I could be playing for 5 minutes or 1 hour and it would just randomly happen. It continues to do this ONLY in Far Cry ( I could play Assassin's Creed Black Flag or Skyrim for hours and everything would work great ). I tried lowering settings, switching to DirectX 9, and reinstalling graphics drivers. All signs were pointing to video issues so I stress tested my GPU as well. My GPU passed a burn in test, never going above 63C. Now I'm starting to think it could be the game updates. I had been playing the game for a year on an older PC with no updates and never had any problems.

What do you think?

My setup is:
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2 (I know it's cheap, but it works well)
AMD FX-6300 (Not OC'd, never runs above 55C)
8GB G.Skil Ripjaw 1333 DDR3 (Passed a Memtest)
Zotac GTX 650 Ti 1GB (Not OC'd either)
OCZ ZT Series 750 Watt PSU
Seagate 1.5 TB HDD (Have yet to check, but Windows works great)

Do you know the error code that is coming up on the bluescreens? That will help point us in the right direction.

If it goes by too quickly, you can turn off the automatic restart. Not sure about Windows 8, but Windows 7, Vista, and XP have a setting in the System Properties, under "Startup and Recovery" on the "Advanced" tab.
