Using Windows 8 OEM key more than once?

Okay, so I'm planning a new build, currently I'm using a prebuilt I bought a year ago that came with Windows 8. I really, really don't want to spend my cash on a new OS, so I managed to retrieve the key from my BIOS. Does this mean that if I wipe my drive, download the files for W8 onto a drive and put it into my PC that it'll work once I put in the key?

Wonderful!~

So, I've never actually done this before, I want to make sure I get it right.
So, I download the W8 files onto a USB, then completely wipe the drive OS and all and then I simply plug the USB into the new PC when the time comes, enter the key when prompted and I should be good to go?

Thank you so much again.
But I'm not understanding something here. I don't have a W8 install disc as it was preloaded onto my PC when I bought it, and all the ISOs cost money, should I just go with the illegal ones or do I need to transfer files from my hard drive?
